The Mt. Elbert Lodge bed and breakfast is surrounded by San Isabel National Forest, four miles west of Twin Lakes at the base of Independence Pass. Situated among several 14,000 ft. peaks, the Lodge forms a trailhead to the Rocky Mountains' highest peak, Mt. Elbert.

Nestled in the wilderness, the bed and breakfast Lodge is located on Lake Creek and provides easy access to a variety of exciting Colorado recreational and historic sites, including Aspen, Twin Lakes, and Leadville.

Mt. Elbert Lodge bed and breakfast is open year-round allowing guests to experience all four seasons in the high country. In the winter, guests enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing from their back door or travel a short distance for downhill skiing. Springtime brings forth the awakening of mountain wild flowers, migration of elk herds, and access to the Twin Lakes, Colorado mountain trails. The summer agenda includes fishing, boating, biking, rafting, horseback riding, hiking and climbing. In the fall the aspen change colors and hiking is at its best as even the highest trails become accessible.

Each room of the bed and breakfast possesses a unique combination of Old World charm and American frontier tradition. The Mount Elbert room features a private balcony while La Plata and Mount Massive rooms offer jetted tubs for two along with wonderful views of the Lake Creek valley.
